IPT’s certified Yoga Therapist, Laura East is an E-RYT and IAYT and has been instructing for over 16 years. With her training, she is able to modify poses and help those with limitations and or physical injuries to safely learn the exercises. Some of her classes incorporate both standing and floor techniques. If you are unable to get down on the floor, she will instruct you in modifications with using a chair for support. Yoga Therapy exercises can be really helpful when you are unable to get out bed due to illness, such as breathing practices or even simple movements while in bed.
Yoga Therapy includes an array of tools that can help you feel healthy, happy and more fulfilled. With the use of meditation, a component of Yoga, memory and concentration techniques, the poses and exercises can improve your posture and help you feel more flexible, stronger and balanced.
Laura teaches eight classes a week in our studio, ranging from Core & Strength to Yoga Flow and PiYoga. She suggests that you wear comfortable clothes, clothes you can move freely in and to bring your own personal mat. She is a believer in doing the exercises without your shoes, due to Yoga is often performed more efficiently while barefoot. Her holistic instruction style is instrumental to our practice and philosophy of The Science of Healing the Art of Caring. Come downstairs and join one of her classes and learn how Yoga can change your life.
