Soft Tissue and Myofascial Restrictions
Soft tissue injury occurs when there is damage to fascia, muscles, ligaments and tendons. Common soft tissue injuries are sprains, strains, contusion, tendonitis, bursitis, stress injuries. Damage to the soft tissues can be a result of a single episode such as a twist, fall, or blow to one or more parts of the body or by repetitive stress to the body by certain activities. Soft tissue injuries can result in pain, swelling, bruising and loss of strength and function.
Through a thorough evaluation, a Physical Therapist can assess the severity of your injury and help you understand more about your particular injury. The therapist will help you develop precautions and prevent additional injury to the tissues, will help develop a program that can progress you from the injury to improved functional mobility.
